Data is currently the ‘new oil’ or a very hot commodity, and understanding the patterns and trends of data is now one of the focal areas of giant corporations. There are several data analytics tools, and choosing the right one may be challenging for new users. SPSS, which stands for Statistical Package for Social Sciences, is a beginner-friendly and user-friendly computer application for entering, analysing and visualising categorical and numerical data. It helps filter and model data into useful information.
The course is recommended for faculty members, graduate students, business analysts and other researchers who want to enhance their data analysis capability. The training targets those with limited statistical background and is also an appropriate refresher for those whose statistical experience was gained many years ago.
The course requires a basic knowledge of computer and learners are assumed they have basic know-how of computer at high school level. In addition, it requires the knowledge of mathematiclal statistics and Econometrics courses as a prerequisite. It is emphasis on introducing different statistical packages ( Stata, and SPSS (python soon). It gives importance for the application of these programs to analyze data. The course improves the skills and the knowledge of learners to solve real problems using actual data.
What you’ll learn
This online tutorial is designed to help you familiarize yourself with the software package SPSS and learn about basic statistics. You will need to follow the instructions within each activity in the sequence presented to complete the course.
Some activities have questions, while others will encourage you to explore the various software options. All are designed to help you think about how SPSS works and how to carry out some basic statistical work.
